Experience the REME story through rare artefacts and the voices of REME people. Our interactive, modern displays feature our world-renowned collection of repair and recovery vehicles, as well as military uniforms, medals, personal mementoes and items brought back from campaigns and operations all over the world.

The Museum is designed for everyone. Whether you’re a REME veteran or trying to entertain young children, our displays are suitable for all ages and backgrounds.
We also work hard to make sure the Museum is accessible as possible. More details about our facilities can be found on our dedicated Accessibility page.
Dogs are not allowed inside the Museum or in Crown's Café, other than assistance dogs. You are welcome to bring your dog into our outside areas but we ask that you keep them on a lead. We can provide water if needed, just ask.
As well as our regular interactive displays, we have a range of trails and quizzes throughout the year plus an outdoor playpark. Enjoy lunch at Crown's Café with a dedicated children's menu.

The Museum is open Tuesday – Sunday, 10.00 – 16.30, with last entry at 15.00 to allow for ample time to explore the galleries.

We encourage all visitors to book general visits in advance to ensure a smooth entry to the Museum, though you are welcome to turn up and pay at Reception on the day.
Some special events need to be booked in advance, so please check the Events page for details.
Our ticket prices are listed on our Admissions page. Concessionary prices for serving and retired military as well as other groups are also listed.
Your ticket unlocks our modern, interactive displays as well as our temporary exhibitions.
Our Gold Card scheme works like a season ticket, offering free entry for serving REME members and their immediate family. For more details or to get involved, please Contact us.
REME veterans who are not Gold Card holders are entitled to a discounted entry. More information can be found on our Admissions page.
We recommend leaving at least two hours to view our displays. There are eight galleries to enjoy, packed with artefacts, information and interactives. Check out our Virtual Tour for a sneak preview.
Remember to leave time for a trip to Crown’s Café for lunch or a coffee.
You can get to the Museum on foot, by car or public transport. We have more detailed instructions on our Getting Here page.
The Museum has a large, free car park including dedicated coach and disabled parking spaces.
On special event days, there may be limited ticketed parking. Please check your event booking in advance.
The Museum lies just outside the perimeter of MOD Lyneham. There is no need to bring ID to visit the Museum or Crown’s Café. We do share an entrance turnoff from the A3102 with the camp's main gate so you can follow signs for the base to find us.
The Museum is fully accessible with disabled parking bays, accessible toilets and step free access throughout. For more information visit our Accessibility page.

Our special exhibitions explore topics related to REME and the British Army and usually last about a year. Check out our Exhibitions page for more information on current, upcoming and previous exhibitions.
No, you cannot climb on our historic vehicles. Some of them are rare and delicate and we want to make sure future generations can enjoy them.
We do, however, have a wooden replica of a Warrior Armoured Recovery Vehicle which you can walk inside and look out through the hatch!
Yes, we've got all kinds of souvenirs, books and gifts. You can also purchase a select range of items from the REME Shop which carries uniform items, REME-branded clothing and bespoke, personalised products. These are available in our Reception area and online.
The Museum's onsite cafe, Crown's Café, is the perfect place to grab lunch or a quick coffee during your visit.
If you would prefer to bring a packed lunch, we have picnic benches outdoors at the rear of the Museum. Just ask at the front desk.
You can also purchase refreshments at Tesco or Co-op, both just 10 minutes’ walk down the road in the centre of Lyneham
You are welcome to take photos during your visit, as long as they are for personal, non-commercial use.
We ask that you do not use flash so other visitors are not distracted.
If you would like to photograph our vehicles for research or model making, we ask that you contact the Museum ahead of your visit. We also ask that you do not climb on or touch the vehicles.
